Procedure

Phase A—In main vessel add phase A under shear mixing. Phase B—In separate vessel, add phase B and heat to 50-55°C under agitation. Phase C—Add phase C to phase B separate vessel and continue heat to 75°C under agitation. Once content of separate vessel reaches 75°C and uniformity, discontinue heat and allow to cool to 50°C under agitation. At 50°C add to the main vessel and continue shear mixing. Phase D—Add phase D to main vessel under shear mixing. Phase E—In separate vessel add phase E under agitation. Once uniform, slowly add to main vessel increasing shear mixing speed as necessary so that phase E is incorporated by the vortex and does not rest on the surface of mixture. Continue this technique until phase E is uniformly incorporated into mixture. It is crucial for phase E to be added very slowly. Note: Time this process. Once mixture is uniform, let mix for the same allotted time it took to add to avoid over-shearing. Phase F—Add phase F to main vessel under shear mixing.
